David Leake was the Assistant Bishop of Northern Argentina from 1969 to 1989 when he became diocesan Bishop and for the latter part of that Episcopate Primate of the Southern Cone. Born on 26 June 1935 [1] to missionary parents serving in Argentina,[2] he was ordained in 1959[3] and began his career with a curacy in Watford. In 1963 he went to South America where he served the Church as a Missionary eventually rising to the Episcopate. In retirement he continues to serve the church as an Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Norwich.[4] and also serves as a consultant to the Argentine Bible Society specialising in the Toba language translation of the Toba (oeste) New \Testament. On retirement he was honoured by the Queen with the CBE.
